Interclean Amsterdam 2022 – the newest trends in maintenance solutions

Interclean 2022, the biggest event in the field of maintenance solutions and cleaning, brought all the field leaders, suppliers, and lots of information to Amsterdam. For the PuhastusImport team, this biennial event is very important, as this biggest event in the field gives us the chance to meet our suppliers and business partners, news and trends of the field, and bring home product innovation and new exciting solutions.

Current topics that stuck with us were:

• how to make the job of the cleaning worker more easy and ergonomic
• the qualitative jump in battery technology
• smart solutions that help save work time
• the development and triumph of robot technology

Many brands, which are available in Estonia through PuhastusImport, chose to introduce their product updates specifically at the Interclean convention. We were glad to meet face to face with Kiehl’s cleaning agents, Bulky Soft’s soft paper, Hako and Cleanfix’s cleaning machines, Excentr’s floor cleaning machines, Sprintus’ vacuums, Unger’s glass washer accessories, Vikan’s hygiene accessories, Vileda’s professional accessories, TTS’ cleaning accessories, and other bränd representatives.

At the convention, the cross-cutting issue was the support of innovation and technology in cleaning work, and environmentally friendly solutions. When both choosing new products and recommending existing solutions to clients, PuhastusImport refers to three values – environmental friendliness, ergonomics, and information technology (IoT). It was clearly visible that environmentally conscious products, but also the packaging in which the products are cased, or the plastic used to make machines, are environmentally friendly. Clients value reused plastic or eco-label products and we could see that manufacturers are choosing to move towards sustainable solutions when making updates.

The qualitative jump in battery technology and the triumph of robot technology

Battery- and robot technology was another outstanding trend. Given the technological advancements and the betterment of battery quality, there has been a remarkable turn towards wireless equipment. A machine with a reliable battery is far more comfortable to work with than a wired machine, and an extra battery lengthens the working time even more. Many brands introduced new robot cleaners, as in the light of the labor shortage and worker welfare issues, self-working machines can help relieve the issues of the service. There are other advantages to using floor cleaning machines – better performance, but also a better result compared to the work of humans. Looking to the future, we can say that a good cleaning machine gets the job done quicker and saves both time and money.

IoT or the Internet of Things has confidently made its way to the maintenance solutions world. Machines that allow you to monitor their working time or condition through your smartphone and sensory mop systems are just a few examples of how the development of technology and the internet can change even the most mundane products into smart ones, and help ensure better results.
