Let's get to know Marylin, business sales specialist of Puhastusimport. Marylin who has been giving good advice to the customers of Puhastusimport for more than five years now shares with us her story of becoming a customer attendant and tells us what she values most in her work.

How did I become a customer attendant?

I have been working in customer service for years. I enjoy my work very much and, as I like connecting with people and providing a good service, I am able to do my favourite things every day. Throughout the years, I have experienced the pleasure of meeting great people, which some of my customers certainly are.

What is most important for me in serving customers? What do I like most about working as a customer attendant?

It is very important for me to leave a good first impression of myself as a customer attendant, as this makes the customers feel good about coming back to us. I also think that good service means treating each customer with care and respect, no matter if they are an optimist or a pessimist.

One of the most important characteristics of a customer attendant is dedication. Working as a customer attendant, I always try to treat my customers as I would like to be treated as a customer. I try to keep this in mind even if I’m very busy or more emotional sometimes.

Which traits turn a good customer attendant into a great one?

I consider patience, attentiveness, good knowledge of the products, using a positive tone of voice, and certainly good persuasion skills the traits of an excellent customer attendant. A customer attendant must also be able to cooperate and adjust, they must be diligent and responsible, accurate, reliable, with a very high stress tolerance, and able to control their emotions. A good customer attendant must of course be able to communicate, as well as simply listen to the customer, if necessary. 

I try to proactively predict the customer's wishes and remain in contact with the customer as a customer attendant, making sure that the customer and myself are comfortable. I like to remain natural and believable.

How to keep up good spirits when the going gets tough?

I am kept in good spirits by my children and our two pets, Buter the dog and Mikk the cat. My children always make me smile.
